Tim is friends with plenty of people I don't have a very high opinion of, and I've managed to keep it together. If he can't do the same, we're in worse shape than I thought.

( despite currently being in of one of the most stable relationships in saltburnt (somehow), shanks is, frankly, the last person who should be giving relationship advice — so while he thinks to say you've figured it out before, you'll do it again ... he is not emotionally equipped to have that conversation.
